Kopi Kewangan and receipt trackers

Kopi Kewangan, retrx and Spnding.

Three apps that start with a receipt and go somewhere different. Here’s who each one suits, what they do better, and how to switch if you’d like to.

Checked: October 2026 Against each app’s public store listing and website. Features and prices can change, so check the listings before you decide.

to happen after the scan.

Receipt archive

retrx

For a tidy archive of receipts with charts. Scan, let it sort by category, set spending limits, and look back over where the money went.

Trip splitting

Spnding

For trips with friends. Scan a receipt or share a screenshot, let it read the items and currency, and settle up between the group.

Credit where it’s due

What they do better.

retrx

Charts and category breakdowns on top of your receipts. Kopi Kewangan shows budget bars by bucket and doesn’t have trend charts yet.

Native iOS and Android apps, where Kopi Kewangan runs in the browser.

Spnding

Reads the currency off a receipt and supports several of them, which suits a trip abroad. Kopi Kewangan works in ringgit.

A one-off lifetime purchase instead of a subscription, if you want the paid features.

If one of those is the thing you need most, those are good choices. If you want the receipt to do more once it’s scanned, read on.

How to switch

Start fresh this month.

Kopi Kewangan doesn’t import from retrx or Spnding yet, so the simplest switch is a clean start.

  1. 01

Keep the old app for the past.

Your history stays there, and there’s no hurry to export it.

  2. 02

    Plan the month.

Sign up and set your 50/30/20 budget in a minute. It’s free, with a one-time code or a passkey to sign in.

  3. 03

    Scan this week’s receipts.

Paper, a photo from your library, or the PDF e-receipt from Grab or Shopee. Check the amount, pick a bucket, done.

  4. 04

    Bring your friends by name.

Add them to a group even if they’re not on the app yet. They claim their share later through your invite link.

  5. 05

    Mark work spends as Business.

They stay out of your budget, and your claim report is ready when you need it.

A month in, you’ll have the same receipts, plus a budget, a split and a claim built from them.
